Yes, they are batteries. Nice work seem neither better nor worse than the Duracell AA we buy are as a rule. The box is nice, but in a drawer (Low Profile), and the battery stick are in individual boxes pack 4 in the box. It is easy to grab a package of four and then throw it in your pocket or something, if you’re traveling. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. Rating: 4 / 5

The small change that we spend it, batteries, in addition to a little more than a year. Bulk packages of these make much sense. But it is better to rechargeable batteries whenever possible to use. Eneloop Sanyo Eneloop 4 AA NiMH batteries, rechargeable batteries hold their charge for the last 6-12 months and with a lot of money (and vicinity) in the time.for Alkaline AA to save the best value I’ve found is from Kirkland Signature. The 48-pack prepares to 28 centss of AA batteries. (You must be a member of Costco to get them.) Rating: 3 / 5
