I bought this without even listening to no preview. I thought it was Gil, so no worries. I was shocked to hear his voice. Perhaps I had forgotten that he has for many years because he had brought something, and for many years that I had not seen him run in person. So at first listen, I did not like it at all, but I do not like sushi at the top knew. Had a couple of times before I can say that I like to eat. Remember, this is the same with this new production. Frankly, I never thought to Gil Scott-Heron never registered. The new album, although short, is absolutely fantastic. It is a haunting beauty that takes you by the throat and never let you go until you feel every nuance, every ounce of life in the tattered, torn voice. The texts and poems, to dig deep in places you do not believe that you never go. I hope that this is not a one-off, and that this comeback will inspire other recordings of Scott-Heron.
