I love this little laptop. It was shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition. I had one minor problem and that was installing MS Office 2007-Student, it locked up and corrupted the entire system. That cost me 80 dollars to have it all reloaded, but it runs fine. I believe, as does the tech, that I was impatient with the software load and corrupted it myself.
As for the laptop-it is fantastic. The weight is fabulously light, but sturdy. The screen size is surprisingly adequate, as I had my doubts. The keyboard took some getting used to, but now I am just as fast as I was on the desktop. The lack of number pad was a bit of an inconvenience, but only briefly, as I adjusted to operating without it. There are external key pads, but I do not want a bunch of wired stuff and external this and that, as that is not why I bought a laptop of this size. I did purchase and external CD/DVD R/W as some clients and family members still send me stuff in this format. However, the three USB ports offer alot of flexibility. Also the memory card slot is real handy for downloading photos as I do alot of that in my line of work.
I work in the field alot as an architectural historian and archaeologist, so the portability of this laptop is excellent. I struggled with it vs a tablet, but was afraid of the viability of those swivel screens, and have since been advised by the tech that I made a great choice. The system is extremely fast, the wireless ability superb, and the sound adequate. We hook it up to a speaker system for music at home.
Lastly, the tech that reloaded my system said he was so impressed that he was ordering one for his daughter and niece for Christmas. He asked where I purchased mine and I said Amazon–he was going online to order two. I just purchased a travel case for the laptop and it is due to arrive soon.
I highly recommend this laptop for anybody needed portability and dependability in a laptop. I did alot of research and am very happy with the results.
