Like her namesake, Beach House as a musical construct is an escape, a carefully designed fortress of quiet reverie, surrounded on all sides by walls and the dreamy indie-pop singer Victoria Legrand’s sweet supported actions. Those who are more fortunate than I will retreat to the beach houses away from the bustling city life or for tours on weekends just hipster listeners and the blogosphere as an addict, Beach House for the restoration of another genre, but there is always the same: peace, tranquility and relaxation. Teen Dream, the duo’s third album (multi-instrumentalist Alex Scally is the other half) is the most successful, an album that truly captures the dynamic Beach House. It is also much more exciting (well, as exciting as the two) to 2008’s Devotion lazy and presents some of the songs very tasteful bas.Mais Beach House has never been the same problem that Beach House has plagued career appears again, although Dream Teen’s immediately compelling melodies and sounds just seem to. Considering that a house on the beach is generally considered a paradise of sun, the beauty and joy gross Beach House continue their own boat song, although beautiful and impeccably fashioned with delicate care of two Songsmith Master, stay away from the world, closed by a sort of cold intangible that gives too much Teen Dream ethereal quality that makes it almost impossible connecter.Non, it seems to me to make an issue at first. The first songs are nearly flawless examples of what should be done dream pop, the choir sings “Zebra” on the guitar feedback of the “Silver Soul” to a rumor relentlessly catchy first single, “Norway.” I found myself quite shocked, Beach House, which was actually delivered to me, at this time in her career, so I thought they had exhausted all their Sound Limited offer. But after the step-hop jazzy “Used To Be,” may have increased performance Legrand and easy to record the song the best, the second half begins and Teen Dream is absolutely nothing new to the table.C ‘is a function of the atmosphere and Beach House The mood is not the failure of the band itself only as a Teen Dream-flow to balance increasingly blurred and expressionless. Legrand and Scally perfect dream formula POP on the first half of the plate, but their failure is to continue doing the same thing over and over again for the second. This is not bad, the harmonies are so clear that they have always been, the crystal structures of the songs always so pure and beautiful musicality is predictable. It’s just that the overall similarity of the material even a race-assembly, a flow of the album adds more songs to each other and cause it increasingly difficult to distinguish between tracks individuelles.C is this attention to detail, cold, thinking only To implement the directive into a dream-pop aesthetic that lends his mood Teen Dream fairly remote and the eventual success of the album as a work of art of the game, but that seems strangely impersonal and distant at the same time. Perhaps Legrand androgynous voice that appear so often sober and without emotion, or how the group deals with melodic high points in the same way they have the first verse of the song with the same amount of enthusiasm or their absence. It is a shimmering escape, release, no doubt, but nothing more than sleeping pills, Teen Dream not rise above their genre. Rating: 3 / 5
Let me begin by saying I love this disc. Lush, melodic, dynamic, interesting. . . It flows perfectly from beginning to end and begs to be played over and over again. Songs such as “Norway” and “Walk in the Park” will stick in your head for days. I recommend this album to friends after week, even before its publication. Having said that. . . What were they thinking with the DVD? It’s like a dissonant homemade mash of visual styles and bad, cheap, outrageous images. . . I mean, it’s bad. Do yourself a favor and enjoy music, without visual accompaniment. Rating: 4 / 5
The 3rd Release from New Baltimore indie duo Darling wash your soul with dreamy softness, Songscape nice stretch that float gently through the heavenly realm of the dark lush strange conundrum. Superbly unique female voice of lead melodies that float suspended in space, beaming, content, and always seem to be even slightly wrong in their sparkling brilliance. Reminiscent of the sounds of Mazzy Star, Cocteau Twins, Nico & Eno.Rating: 5 / 5
Once again, I’m late joining the party. I had not of Beach House, before hearing this album came out. (As I first met with the spoon, “Gimme Fiction”.) You a duo from Baltimore, are released two albums before. Your last visit was on Mazzy Star, compare among others. Their latest is “Teen Dream” is a reward for all those who listen to the mellow indie-pop with a warm, insightful lyrics. The music is monotonous, with keyboards, synthesizers lush, shimmering guitars and percussion infused fire base. You use a real drummer for live shows, above all, the album sounds like they use drum machines. A bonus is the quality of the texts. Even if you do not always sure what Victoria Legrand sings, they fit the mood of the music to perfection. Her voice is remarkable, and obviously she had some experience in the opera, or at least take voice lessons for opera, is not sure 100%. “Zebra” begins with an electric guitar and singing softly presses have almost a lullaby, soft like the feeling before it is opened in a beat the chug-chug. “Walk In The Park” sounds like it could be this year, “two weeks” (Grizzly Bear), although slightly softer, but with the outbreak of similar voices and a great outro to the song of Victoria “The more you on, tell me. .. “.” Lover of Mine “is a current favorite with much of the milieu in which she sings” The only thing you have, you know, you’re better off without him. “Of course,” Norway, the only ones with infectious smoky ha ha “ha” chorus and woozy slide guitar begin the beautiful melody that burrows into you. And “Take Care” is the perfect album closer, gently You Off sends a blessing. This was the first song I heard the album (thank you KEXP) and it makes a big impression. To be honest, a minor nitpick I have is that even if the songs are still strong, you have a similar meaning and rhythm. However, with excellent songs, it is a trifle. I’ll be listening to it repeatedly coming week. And I can not wait to see them in concert at the end of March. Rating: 4 / 5
The first time I heard the Teen Dream, I found it quite nice, but nothing special. After hearing “Norway” on the radio a few days ago I decided to hear the whole album again. And wow, I’m glad that I did not. Teen Dream has many beautiful moments. The traces of the early years are particularly large, “Silver Soul” Grabs my attention every time I listen. Make no mistake, but there is absolutely no cost for this disc. Teen Dream is one of those albums to listen to this offer worth more with each. It is relaxing and meditative, but deeper and deeper into the same temps.Il is the first time I heard one of the beach equipment room, but I’ll certainly pay attention to them and check their previous albums, now that I was introduced this gem and coherent séduisante.EDIT: After several listens, it is clear that Teen Dream is The Real Deal. “10 Mile Stereo” and “Take Care” are absolutely outstanding and were repeated for one or two weeks solid. Buy this album now. Rating: 5 / 5
