Who could do better, a CD version of The Greatest Love Songs of all time? Barry Manilow not only shows his skills as an actor, but an arranger. Barry Manilow has 13 songs on this album, and everyone is perfect. The songs were chosen by hand, by Barry Manilow and Clive Davis, long time employees. I strongly recommend this CD for all fans of Barry Manilow and great music. He will make a great gift for Valentine’s Day and it arrived just in time! Rating: 5 / 5
I was really disappointed in the album Barry’s 90’s in some way, so I am reluctant to buy it, but I’m glad I did. Listening to this album is like a time machine. The arrangements and song takes you back to happier times and a smile in your heart. Barry Manilow is one of the most underrated singers of all time. For decades, it is people with his thunderous voice, arrangements and epic songs timelessly dressed. Unfortunately, many critics did not understand his talent. I discovered through the song beautifully produced Dionne Warwick, “I’ll Never Love This Way Again.” Since I had the opportunity to see him at a concert in Philadelphia, and to assess its full catalog of music. OMG! What a wonderful start to the new year! Thirteen Bee-YOU-tee full songs, sung only for you, Barry. Approximately 45 minutes listening pleasure. He sings beautifully. It always sounds like he is singing just for you. Each of these good songs, I can feel in my heart. If you have long enough to these songs before remember, you will certainly find yourself singing it. (Although you might not be around for # 13 in 1898. I have that I do, however. I bet you hear that somewhere before singing.) Seriously – the more I listen to this album the more I love it! 1) (Our) Love Is Here To Stay – I love this song, and counting. Love this album! Even if this is not an “original” album, Barry makes these songs sound fresh and new. Vocally. . . He is in great shape. I have all his albums, and quite honestly, this is now one of my top five favorite recordings Manilow. He is as romantic as “If I Should Love Again”. It is sometimes a piano-jazz feel “2:00 Paradise Cafe.” On some tracks, it is reminiscent of “Manilow Sings Sinatra.” A title sounds like it would have to “Singing With The Big Bands can be.” Above all, Barry is on this album, what he does best on all his previous work: It arranges and sings these songs as if they were written by / for him.
